Technologies

ESSI is driven by the overriding belief that there are economical, environmentally compliant solutions to industrial problems and inefficiencies that go beyond the obvious. We seek to develop solutions that also provide our domestic industries a competitive advantage to offshore competition and allow our businesses a chance to grow organically and hire more employees to meet that increased demand.

We have spent many years developing core elements of what has become our technology platforms that span several different industries and across many practical applications. All of our technologies are proprietary. They exist in four primary industrial areas:

Foundry – Metal Casting

ESSI has developed and patented the Eco Chill™ Adjustable Directional and Rapid Cooling Process. Our proprietary metal casting technique replaces current foundry methodology employed for conventional investment and lost foam castings of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.

Our innovative technology:

  • Provides for an optimized and controlled solidification of the molten metal
  • Improves the mechanical properties of the molded castings to custom levels
  • Significantly shortens the complete solidification time
  • Eliminates the need in most cases for a second heat treating operation
  • Reduces compliance issues with the EPA since our Mold Media Material (MMM) is recyclable and contains no hazardous chemical binders.

Our Eco Chill™ system is designed for and works equally well with metal casting foundries as well as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) that shape metal parts in non-ferrous and ferrous metals.

Oil and Gas

We have developed proprietary systems for the effective removal of hydrocarbons and other hazardous contaminants from both soil and water. Both of our independent systems are mounted on portable mobile platforms, which allows for on-site access.

Our proprietary soil remediation system is based on an innovative form of thermal desorption which utilizes heat applied to contaminated soil to vaporize volatile and semi-volatile components without incinerating the soil. These off-gases are collected, condensed in preferred particular embodiments and re-volatized into liquid for commercial use or disposal. While an updated version of this system is still in its developmental stages, a production line unit has been beta tested and used in production. ESSI has the technology available but commercialization has been deferred in favor of the rapid deployment of the water treatment systems for fracking in the explosively growing oil and gas industry.

ESSI has a patent pending on a system for separating contaminants from water, which we call the Unitized Single-Pass System (USS™). This patent pending system is novel and unique. It conjoins into a continuous single-flow line device three separate and distinct water treatment technologies: a patented water separation system which removes hydrocarbons and settleable solids in the first phase; a patented salt and chemical removable system which removes dissolved salts (TDS) and totally suspended solids (TSS) in the second phase; and proprietary pre-treatment, mini blender systems which adjusts pH levels and adds and blends any chemicals requested by the customer prior to recycling. This is the third and final phase after which this now treated and scrubbed wastewater recycles back for reuse in the regular fracking water cycle.

Diesel Exhaust

Our proprietary diesel exhaust catchment system provides for the effective removal of PM (Particulates Matter) and NOX (Oxides of Nitrogen) with a PM removal efficiency factor down to nano-particle range. This system is designed for application on all diesel motor exhaust systems, and it eliminates the need for expensive high-maintenance filtration canisters as well as the need to use diesel fluid (ionized water & urea). Our system meets the EPA Tier 4 verified standards without reducing engine performance or fuel efficiency.

Advanced Materials

We have developed the following proprietary advanced materials systems and products for a variety of industrial uses, including high-strength, easy-to-weld alloys.

  • Metal Matrix Composite Alloys (MMCAs) which have improved strength and longer wear resistance and are lighter than ferrous alloys and as light as aluminum. These MMCAs are tailored for brake component parts: automotive, commercial trucks, motorcycles and military vehicles.

  • Metal alloy blends with innovative proprietary thermal after treatment. These alloys have the strength of many high-grade steels yet are one-half the weight of these steels. These alloys are tailored for high strength commercial chains, commercial aircraft and Aerospace applications.

  • ESSI has a patent pending on a system and apparatus for clean water generation using available industrial energy potential.  A world-renowned research institute has developed and patented a breakthrough specially engineered material that is lighter than steel and more conductive than copper. ESSI has been granted approval by this laboratory to use this material exclusively in our novel and unique patent pending application.  Because of the potential widespread use and ecological benefit of this technology, we will be working in conjunction with this research lab to advance and perfect the material and our process application.  We call our technology Eco Water Synthesis™ a system and apparatus that diverts unused available industrial energy potential to power the conversion of large amounts of clean water.
